Equity & Inclusion Program Specialist - Temporary Position

St. Paul, MN

JOB PURPOSE
kpCompanies, is leading the search for a temporary Equity and Inclusion Program Specialist for our client. This position plays a key organizing role in supporting equity and inclusion initiatives at our organization. In addition to leading and coordinating specific department programs, the specialist will devote significant time to design, implementation and organization of cross- departmental initiatives and programs. On these efforts, the specialist will partner with Advocacy, Supply Chain (supplier diversity), Safety and Security, Values and Performance and Human Resources departments as well as other departments. This position will work to integrate systems and infuse equity and inclusion into the respective work of these departments. The specialist will manage multiple priorities effectively, identify and implement innovative solutions and ensure mutual respect and understanding among staff and external partners.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Lead Management (60%)
  • Coordinate Events and Maintain Equity and Inclusion Master Event Schedule (15%).
  • Maintain oversight and organization of key Equity and Inclusion programs and participation.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all Equity and Inclusion events and seminars.
  • Work with ERGs and external vendors to plan events and provide updates, changes, or improvements to event schedule.
  • Develop protocols to ensure staff feedback about equity and inclusion.
  • Co-lead the design, development, and implementation of the Equity Internship Program.
  • Co-lead the design and development of the Equity Development Cohort
  • Act as a primary advocate for supplier diversity within organization.
Build and Maintain Strong Int and Ext Relationships (20%)
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with staff.
  • Works with departments to analyze program design, strategy, and program vision to ensure high quality service delivery. This includes assessing outcomes data and identifying and implementing equity and inclusion strategies.
  • Participate as a full member of the Equity and Inclusion team, including attending team meetings and acting as an advocate for the team in internal and external relationships.
  • Provide insight to the Equity and Inclusion team on partnership opportunities with external organizations.
  • Establish internal and external relationships to increase Supplier Diversity efforts. Builds relationships with key stakeholders across company and community to facilitate supplier diversity goals.
  • Stay connected internally and externally, leveraging data, insights, and industry trends to lead, influence, support, and facilitate organizational change.
Prov. Strategic Support for Employee Resource Groups (20%)
  • Identify opportunities, address gaps, and implement tactics to accelerate progress of ERGs.
  • Collaborate with partners to create professional development opportunities for ERGs.
  • Cultivate internal and external partnerships to elevate engagement with underrepresented communities.
  • Strengthen partnership between Equity & Inclusion/ERGs.
Knowledge Driven Care Delivery
  • Provides services within the mission and vision.
  • Implements the integration of knowledge into unit/department operation.
  • Continues personal and professional development to enhance job related competency.
Compliance

  • Regulatory, accreditation standards, and job/department specific competencies (Joint Commission, CMS, Patient's Rights, Mandatory eLearning, etc.).

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have strong leadership and organizing skills and an ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects. They will be detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to execute tasks and logistics to advance projects. This candidate will offer strong relationship skills and an ability to work collaboratively with varying work styles and backgrounds. Bringing those skills together, they will be able to efficiently execute their own tasks and show the same success in working with teams. The candidate should be a self-sufficient, proactive problem-solver who can effectively execute even in ambiguous or uncertain circumstances. They should have the ability to set clear goals for projects and to provide a framework for ongoing assessment of those projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in leadership, business management or diversity and inclusion preferred
  • 1-3 years' experience in equity, diversity and inclusion work or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of current practices and trends regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
