Chief Program Officer - Catholic Charities

POSITION PROFILE:

kp prime search, the retained search division of kpCompanies, is leading the search for a Chief Program Officer for Catholic Charities. The Chief Program Officer leads the strategic vision, administration, and culture of Catholic Charities programming. Directs the development and implementation of programs and services while managing ongoing goals and objectives. Develops and maintains community relations with government and community partners. Internally serve as chief thought-partner and advisor for all programming-related functions for other leaders of the Executive Team, Leadership Team, and Program leaders.

 JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Create strategic vision to take CC -programming to its next level of evolution through scale and sustainability.
  • Lead nuanced programmatic development and implementation for the organization applying a race, equity, diversity, and inclusion lens throughout.
  • Establish measurable, metric-driven program are goals and objective on annual basis and monitor progress.
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and develop new program ideas and pilot projects, focused primarily on under-serviced communities experiencing persistent violence and trauma.
  • Develop and foster a high-performance, inclusive, and accountable culture throughout the team, aligned with CC’s core values and organization commitments to equity and inclusion.
  • Manages the development and implementation of program goals, objectives, polices, and priorities and participates as a member of CC executive team.
  • Advises and assists the Exec Team and the President and CEO on the development and implementation of a financial strategy, which ensures the availability of funding sources for programs and activities.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of assigned programs as they pertain to administrative, management, internal functions, and internal controls, which support the CC goals, objectives, and the housing programs. 
  • Oversees and reviews funding applications for various HUD and housing programs.
  • Supports and implements customer focused service delivery and assigned programs.
  • Performs highly responsible management work, which includes overseeing senior level employees including department heads.
  • Lead culture of Cross-functional collaboration ensuring organization-wide systems and goals align and operate in pursuit of shared measurable outcome.
  • Internally, serve as thought partner and advisor to other functional leaders ensuring programmatic strategy is operating in close collaboration with areas such as finance, development, date communications and marketing.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s degree in non-profit or human services management or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of experience performing progressively responsible and complex operational characteristics in housing programming (emergency shelter, transition, and permanent housing).
  • Strong understanding of emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing systems. Including funding structures, accounting, and compliance practices.
  • Experience with HUD contracts preferred.
  • Personal or professional experience operating within or alongside communities experiencing persistent violence/trauma.
  • Experience managing remote, decentralized and racially diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing high-performing teams within an equity-focused culture, coaching and development.
  • Ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness required.
