Position Profile: Ongoing Product Development Leader

kp prime search, the retained search division of kpCompanies is leading the search for a matrixed operational Leader, who will have direct supervision over engineers and CAD designers.  This position will also collaborate with senior and peer management, external suppliers, manufacturing, quality, marketing, finance, sales, service, packaging engineering, materials engineering, legal, and code and regulatory.

Your priorities in this position will be:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and work direction to a team of 5 direct reports

  • Establish and nurture an environment conducive to high levels of morale, associate satisfaction, and performance

  • Project and task prioritization

  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of inputs in situations where limited standardization and data exists

  • Identify and deliver product design support and solutions targeted at business growth and operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost in the manufacture of window and door products

  • Able to manage projects and provide detailed coaching on managing projects – ensuring success criteria are defined and delivered upon and creating and adhering to detailed timelines

  • Budget setting and management

  • Act as a liaison to coordinate and manage enterprise RD&I initiatives

  • Provide support to cross-functional initiatives

          

 

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering or equivalent engineering experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in Quality, Research and Development, or Process Engineering

  • Passion for leading and developing a high-performance team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  This position will be required to promote, justify, and generate energy for project ideas to all levels in the organization, up to the executive level

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies with demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion both independently and while leading a team

  • Self-motivated with strong intellectual curiosity

  • Knowledge of design specification and documentation methods

  • Expected travel of <10%

Salary: $90,353-$140,047
