Job Description:
Directs and implements financial activities of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 
  • Plans, directs and assists with activities within the finance department to ensure attainment of Company goals.
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast Company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Coordinates with all other Company departments to achieve Company financial objectives.
  • Plans study and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
  • Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
  • Provides technical guidance to all Company employees as appropriate.
  • Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and complies with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
  • Interfaces with customers as required.
  • Works as part of management staff group to perform upper management functions such as strategic planning and budgeting.
  • Prepares budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
  • Maintains fixed asset records.
  • Assists with month end close, journal entries and reconciling General Ledger accounts.
  • Provides management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
  • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
  • Participates in monthly forecasting.
  • Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Arranges for audits of Company’s accounts.
  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
  • Maintains working knowledge and understanding of Company’s computer systems and software.
  • Provides management with reporting, specifying and comparing factors affecting pricing, quoting and profitability for our products and services.
  • Ensures proper internal controls over systems and financial procedures.
  • Analyzes gross margins and monitors burden rates.
  • Observes safety and security procedures, including maintaining confidentially, using equipment/materials properly, reporting potentially unsafe conditions, and acting upon appropriate actions.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
